The tradition of cooking great Mexican food began with our mother over 45 years ago. Our unique style of cooking authentic Mexican food was one that all family members who the loved and appreciated, and one we knew others would as well. Our family owned and operated a family style Mexican food restaurant in Mathis for many years. Santiago's Restaurant in Mathis is well known for it's made-from-scratch chalupa shells, it's unique dinner roll and it's ever-popular top seller, the enchilada. The restaurant's reputation surpasses that of any restaurant it's size by extending beyond the Coastal Bend and Texas to other states and countries. Located in Mathis, it shares the tourist population with 3rd most visited state park in Texas, home of Lake Corpus Christi.
